Creative Problem-Solving Tools

Creative Problem Solving (CPS) is a method for managing creativity, innovation, and change.  It’s power has been proven for nearly seventy years.   It includes a framework that allows you to design your approach, guidelines for generating and focusing options, positive language that is fit for purpose, and a variety of tools and techniques.

CPS can be learned and applied at the individual, group or team, or organizational level – on a wide variety of challenges and opportunities that require improved clarity, ideas, or action.

VIEW is a short, easy-to-administer questionnaire developed specifically for the purpose of helping individuals and teams efficiently and effectively solve problems while promoting creativity.  Thirty years of research, development, and tens of thousands of applications make the VIEW the powerful assessment it is today.

VIEW is designed to help you take a proactive stance in establishing an environment in which team members can work to their full potential as an individual and as part of a team. VIEW puts you in a position to build strategies and plans for playing to people’s strengths and appreciating their differences.

The Situational Outlook Questionnaire (SOQ) measures people’s perceptions of the climate for creativity, innovation and change in their immediate working environment.  The SOQ is used to help foster and maintain a climate that can support innovation and change within organizations, teams, and leaders.

The dimensions the SOQ measures have been validated against measures of organizational innovation.  Research has shown the relationship between people’s perceptions of the organizational climate for creativity and the organization’s ability to: implement successful and lasting change initiatives, improve overall business performance, enhance employee health and well-being, and develop original products and services.
